Introducing our new diabetes REWIND programme

At Xyla Health & Wellbeing we care passionately about improving the health outcomes of diabetes patients and are absolutely delighted to finally announce our new cutting-edge service, REWIND, that we will deliver in partnership with NHS North West London Collaboration of Clinical Commissioning Groups. We have used our core values and expertise, innovation and effective use of technology to design our REWIND service.

Innovation, as one of our core values, has been key in developing our pioneering 52-week diabetes programme which aims to reduce medications used in managing Type 2 diabetes. Our programme provides a structured plan of: assessments; measurements and ongoing blood glucose testing; dietary replacement products and guidance; nutrition education; food re-introduction; self-monitoring; physical activity and six and nine month reviews. Our caring, motivated coaches provide ongoing support and encouragement for patients throughout the programme, together with a final review with further signposting.

“Most of my patients with Type 2 diabetes tell me that they would like to lose weight and reduce or stop medication. The REWIND programme will maximise your chances of achieving this.

Losing 10 to 15kg gives you the greatest chance of reducing medication or achieving remission, but even losing as little as 5kg will increase your energy levels, reduce your risk of heart disease and improve your mental well-being.

The REWIND programme is an amazing opportunity to kick start a healthier life.” Dr Tony Willis, Clinical Director for Diabetes, North West London Collaboration of CCGs.

“This ground-breaking programme now offers people living with Type 2 diabetes a new option. We no longer have to rely on medications to manage blood glucose levels – we give people the tools to take control and manage Type 2 diabetes in their own way. This is going to revolutionise the way we manage Type 2 diabetes.” William Hadfield, Clinical Dietetic Lead, Xyla Health & Wellbeing.
