Stevie’s Digital Weight Management Journey

Stevie has been attending the NHS Digital Weight Management Programme with Xyla Health & Wellbeing and has seen some amazing changes since starting their journey. They have been happy to share with us some of their experiences and results.

What have you found useful about the Wellbeing Way App?

I have found the tracking of my weight, measurements, steps, and activity useful, not only for tracking purposes but to motivate me. The ‘my journey’ part of the app is very helpful as it highlights any improvements you have made etc. The online modules have been helpful to refresh understanding and learn new things.

What do you find useful about your coaching calls with your Registered Healthcare Professional? Have you felt supported throughout the process?

They have encouraged me to think about goals related to my health and wellbeing. They have helped to keep me on track and enabled me to discuss any concerns.

What changes did you make to your lifestyle, e.g. exercise routine, dietary, habits…?

I began to monitor my portion sizes and make changes to how many vegetables I eat. I increased my daily step count and activity levels.

Have you accessed any local services (i.e. leisure centres, exercise on referral) due to this programme?

I had already joined a gym prior to this but it encouraged me to go more.

What is your favourite part of the programme, why?

My favourite part was the ‘my journey’ part of the app which tells me my weight loss and activity changes.

What challenges did you face with the programme, and how did you overcome them?

I found it challenging to fit everything into a very hectic routine. With the app and the phone calls, this helped me to figure out how to do it without adding too much pressure.

What changes have you seen in any measurements that have been taken? E.g. HBa1c, waist measurement, weight, clothes size etc…

I have seen changes in my weight, waist measurements and clothes size.

Would you, or have you, recommended the programme to others? Why?

I have discussed it with friends and family members as I was finding it very useful.

What would you say to those who are thinking about joining the programme?

Make the step and do it, it isn’t as daunting to time consuming as you think.

Are there any other comments you wish to make about your experience?

It has been a good experience in my opinion and has given me the encouragement to improve my daily routines and habits to improve my health and wellbeing.
